3 Simple Steps To Remember Your Dreams

Category : Dream Interpretation

Do you remember your dreams? Perhaps you never remember your dreams and are not actually sure that you do dream, since you never seem to remember them. Well guess what there are a few things that you can do that are relatively easy to do and will help to get you to that place where you do start to remember your dreams. The good news is that none of these steps will cost you anything other than a little effort and planning on your part.

The first thing you need to think about if you are a person that never seems to remember your dreams is think about how much sleep you get on a nightly basis. Chances are that if you are not getting enough sleep than you probably don’t remember many dreams. Also do you wake up naturally or are you woken up by an alarm clock, screaming kids or barking dogs? If this describes your daily sleeping habits than this will be the first thing you will need to address. Getting your body it’s required amount of sleep is the key ingredient to dreaming and the best way for you to know if you are getting enough sleep is to wake up naturally.

This is a lot harder for people than you might think as so many of us try to cram way to many things into our multi tasking lives that we inevitably sacrifice the amount of sleep we get in order to have more waking hours. The practice of waking up slowly and naturally is something that many of us have not done since we were kids.

zero gravityOnce you establish that getting enough sleep is a real priority for you then you can start working on remembering your dreams. A good idea to help you in the process is to put a notebook or even a small voice recorder to start recording things that you will start to remember as you wake up. This dream recording should be the first thing you do before you even get out of bed, just roll over and record it. No matter how off the wall or insignificant it might seem.

Another good practice to get into if you really want to start remembering your dreams is to focus or suggest to yourself to remember your dream. I know that might seem cheesy, it does work though especially if you are consistent with it. Again these three steps to remembering your dreams may seem quite easy almost too simple when you think about it. It’s a shame more people in general do not give dreaming as much priority as to the things we do in our waking hours. You will be surprised how powerful your dreams can be and how significant the things your brain dreams about while you are sleeping is to your life in general. Especially when you record your dreams and are able to piece them together.
